Words are the basic component of communication. They
convey a message and paint a picture in the reader’s
mind. But sometimes, words are simply not enough. This
is where good graphics can help individual employees and
whole companies by showing instead of just telling.
Graphics software provides the tools to create and
design visual or textual graphics. It can include
photos, but some programs let the user create a picture
from lines, shapes, or even lettering. It might also
have several options available, such as tables, text
boxes, and bullet lists.
One major reason to use graphics is that it makes
presentations or reports easier to digest. A 50 page
report sometimes needs sprucing up. Page after page of
the written word (unless it’s a great novel) can
sometimes be very tedious. A few graphics will offer
the reader’s eyes a little rest. Plus, graphics are
sometimes the best means to present an idea. It’s pretty
hard to really visual a company’s growth, for example,
without the use of a bar or line graph to really
demonstrate the information.
Businesses may also want to create their own marketing
material. A plain white page is not eye-catching. A
graphics software program at the right finger tips is a
powerful tool when trying to sell an idea or a product.
Creating slick looking reports or advertising material
can be expensive when businesses rely on outside
printing companies or design firms. Quality graphic
software and employees who are trained to use it can
save lots of money in creative expenses |
