Picture for a moment the final exam schedule at any
university. In the interest of exam security and
fairness, most of these exams are held collectively in
halls or gymnasiums. There are hundreds of exams,
thousands of students and only maybe four or five major
facilities in which to hold all those tests. Is it
even possible to comprehend how complicated this
scheduling could be?
This example translates over to the business world quite
well. When there are a select number of facilities,
equipment, rooms and vehicles with a large number of
employees needing to use them in order to all get their
jobs done, it can be a scheduling nightmare. Facilities
Management software works to alleviate much of this
anxiety. It is designed to coordinate employees’ needs
with one another and works in an unbiased manner to
secure the right facility or equipment for the most
pressing job.
Efficiency is the most important factor here. If
software is in change of scheduling, there is little--if
any room-- for human error. It means everyone can get
the job done right and on time, because there is minimal
hassle over who needs what, when and where. Like so many
other business software applications, valuable time is
saved. And, as the saying goes, time is money.
