A business trip’s expenses in one day might go something
like this: gas mileage, breakfast, a decent hotel room,
lunch, game tickets, drinks, diner, more drinks, and
then a taxi back to the hotel. And that’s only the first
day. Sometimes to play in the big leagues, you’ve got
to flash a little cash. But how much is too much? And
what can an employer expect as a reasonable sum for
employees to spend while representing the company?
Expense report software takes the guess work out.
Instead of a bunch of crumpled up (or missing) receipts,
this type of software allows employees to clearly lay
out the expenses they have to incur in order to work on
the businesses’ behalf. They can plan their expenses
ahead of time and get approval from higher-ups. It can
set a strict budget or even analyze necessary expenses.
Some programs might even offer up cheaper solutions,
such as finding less expensive flights. The programs can
be tailor-made to weigh expense needs with available
finances.
Expenses can be tricky. Businesses don’t want to leave
their employees spending their own money on legitimate
expenses. But some expenses are definitely not
work-related. In extreme cases, employees might even
abuse their expense accounts. Expense report software
will create a standard. It will limit confusion on what
is and isn’t a viable expense. In the end, it saves both
money and morale. |
